Game Three: Natalie's At-Home Perspective

Though I had hoped to be in Philadelphia for Game 3, I ended up staying in Dayton and watching from home. The game was so emotional for me- from the moment the pre-show started to the game-winning RBI- knowing I could have been there was tough to handle. But all that aside, it was an amazing game for the club and for Phillies fans everywhere.

The guys from Tampa Bay even recognized that this was a great game of baseball. Rays Manager Joe Maddon said, "You had to love this game. I was sitting there in the dugout and thinking just that: if I'm a fan and a aficionado of baseball, it had just about everything. And it was a World Series game. What a night."

And what an awesome night for Jamie! I loved the shots of him as a kid- seems like not much has changed. Despite his earlier playoff performance, he's a great pitcher and he really came through for the Phils last night, pitching 6 1/3 with 5 strike outs. Last night must have been such a special moment for him, and for all the fans that have followed the Phils for so long.

We also have to give some love to Carlos Ruiz after tonight's game- he's done so much for the team this season. I remember poking fun at Ruiz early in the season after some of his at-bats - but he has picked up the slack for our big hitters on so many occasions this year. He's great at what he does behind the plate and such an asset to the team.

I wasn't there in person, but any true baseball fan knows that last night's game was extremely meaningful. I'm so proud of our boys and confident that they'll bring the fight tonight, as well!
